is a social anthropologist, an associate professor at the School of Public Policy and research fellow at the Democracy Institute of the Central European University (CEU). She is also faculty member of the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology and the Doctoral School for Political Sciences and International Relations of the University.
She co-directed the Center for Policy Studies of the CEU for more than two decades (2003-2020). Her research focuses on ethnic and gender inequalities, post-socialist socio-economic transformations, European social inclusion policies, and social justice and pro-equality civil society formations. Recently she has directed a larger multi-year civil society and equality policy supporting initiative (Roma Civil Monitor 2016-2020). Currently she is engaged in comparative European research endeavors on discriminatory practices in public administration in CEE, anti-gender hate speech in social media across Europe, policy paradigms concerning un/deservingness, and a historical overview of post-socialist transformations.
